The Hometown Challenge Race Results are in, we have winners from all over the state of Minnesota -- and even Illinois!
The Hometown Challenge is a friendly competition between cities of similar population size. The idea is to recruit others who live in your community, and you may already run with, to join in the fun at the Minneapolis Marathon and Half Marathon. This year, many cities became winners, from Minneapolis to St. Michael. The top runners in these communities will get a free entry into the Monster Dash Half Marathon, held on October 30th, 2010. All total that is 112 runners! Congratulations!
We also had a participation category in which a city who had the most people, without the best time, is recognized. The 254 runners who participated in the Minneapolis Marathon and Half whose city (including Chicago and Duluth-Superior) won in this category, will receive 50% off the registration for the Monster Dash Half Marathon as well!
Discount codes for all the Hometown Challenge winners will be emailed by Friday, June 18th, 2010. Award flags will be mailed out soon.
Could this be your city next year? Bragging rights will be on the line when the Hometown Challenge re-emerges next June for the Minneapolis Marathon & Half Marathon. For more information on the Hometown Challenge, click here.
