Team Ortho Foundation's signature race the Monster Dash has become a smash hit with runners! "Great event! This was my first Monster Dash and I will be back next year," one runner told us. "I was thrilled with the course, the volunteers and everything! Love my medal, I will be back," said another runner. They're talking about the Monster Half Marathon, 10-Mile, 5K and 5K-9 events which happen each year on the last Saturday of October. We offer a beautiful course, fantastic gear, and fun, fun, fun!!!
In 2009, the size of our event more than doubled with more than 5,000 runners participating in our events that day. Named one of Fitness Magazine’s “Faves” for “Frightfully Fun Runs”, more and more people across the country are wrapping up their running season with one of the Monster races. The 10-Mile and Half Marathon routes capture the beauty that is autumn in Minnesota, but all of the races are also fun! "Many of our runners really get into the spirit of it," John Larson Executive Director of Team Ortho said. "They dress up in really creative Halloween costumes. So not only are they people who want to be active, they are really fun people too!"
The 5K and 5K-9 (run with your dog) fun runs have even more costumes and more families! All of our water stops along this route also serve as trick-or-treating stops as well.
This year, the Half Marathon and 10-Mile runners will receive the fourth in our series of beautiful stained-glass medals (pictured above) and all runners recieve great running gear specific to their event. If you want to be part of this fabulous event, be sure to register. We can't wait to see you at this spooktacular event!
"Great gear, great race, bigger and better...Racing done right," -Monster Dash Finisher
Monster Half, 10 Mile, 5K Course Information
The Monster Dash Half, 10-Mile, 5K and 5K-9 races are filled with great scenery, not just the Halloween costumes people wear, but the fall color is at its peak in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area during our race. The routes for this race take advantage of that, taking runners in and around some of the most scenic areas Minneapolis has to offer: including Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun and a portion of Minnehaha Parkway.
*Start times and courses have not been finalized for 2010. Please be aware both the start time and the course could change slightly and you should check back on this website to confirm information about your race.
